Toiletry Program

The Toiletry program is an ongoing service.  We are accepting donations of toiletry products.  Recent months we have focused on seasonal themes.....

In addition to holiday gift packages, club members are adopting families in need.  Everyone is shopping for Christmas presents.

Thank you everyone for helping out.

May, of course, is Mother’s Day.

March and April is a special Easter theme.

In January and February the focus is on collecting towels for residents of local shelters.

Bagging Party for Toiletries Project
are held at American Capital on Broadway.  Generally we hold this event every other month on Tuesday nights. Contact Carol Stewart. We are in need of all toiletries.  Examples of items we can use: shampoo, conditioner, skin lotion, lipstick, hairbrush, combs, deodorant and soap.

Hope House Gift Baskets

Richard A. Villareal introduced his fellow employees at San Mateo Credit Union to the club's Toiletry Program. As Easter was close by, the employees decided as a group to do an Easter basket theme as a toiletries donation.

Richard delivered the toiletry baskets to an excited group of ladies from Hope House. Hope House was excited to receive the baskets and from me personally, those smiles from the ladies really brightened up the room.   SMCU employees were touched by the program ...more donations are coming.

Contact Carol Stewart for how you may help with the Toiletry Program or Richard Villareal on ideas for team projects such as SMCU's Easter basket theme.

Thank You From Hope House

This is just a sample of some of the letters we received from the women at Hope House in response to our Toiletry and Holiday Adopt a Family Program:

“Let me start by saying how thankful and grateful I am to Kiwanis. You made Christmas possible for me and my children.  Thank you for all the beautiful gifts for the kids and also the bag of wonderful things for myself.  I thank you deeply, words can’t express my gratitude. God Bless you all.”

“Dear Kiwanis Club Members, Thank you so much for the gifts that you gave me on Christmas.  It was very nice to have something to open up. I am beyond grateful for the thought and time you took for me.”

“Dear Kiwanis Club Members.  Thank You so very much for all of the beautiful presents you gave my 2 little girls. You all are truly angels on earth.  God Bless all of you. Please have a safe and happy new year.

“Dear Kiwanians, I want to personally thank you for your time.  You’ve made a difference in my life. Your gifts were welcomed and appreciated.”

“Dear Kiwanis Club Members,  I appreciate all of the gifts you have given to my fellow sisters in recovery.  You have really made their Christmas wishes come true.  Now that’s what I call love from an angel.”
