We Had Fun, Fun, Fun
(and Daddy Didn't Take the T-Bird Away)

We did have one T-Bird entered at the Woodside Terrace A.M. Kiwanis 2nd Annual Car and Motorcycle, Health and Safety Fair at Sequoia High School in Redwood City.    On Sunday, May 22, 2005 between 9:00-3:00 the sun finally appeared and so did the community to gander at 60 street rods, custom and classic cars and several motorcycles, while munching on savory Kiwanis made hot dogs, Key-club popped popcorn, root beer floats, and vendors’ tacos and ice cream.

George brought down his classic 33 Ford Woodie and ’37 Chevy street rod (with the big, huge blower motor), and a new addition to the Borg family; a “classic-classy” 1964 Bentley (right hand drive). Neighbor, Erich Campana (from Al Graf Bail Bonds, one of the sponsors of the t-shirts and awards) was “stoically” pleased to win an award of his own for his racy black and white ’68 Camero.  Paul Mangan entered one of his motorcycles, a shiny red Ducati.
Three teens from The Boys and Girls Club sang their hearts and souls to “God Bless America” and a tune from Ashanti. Entertaining Belly dancers strutted through the crowds.

A special thanks to our sponsors who helped with T-Shirts, awards and raffle prizes: Kohlweiss Auto Pars, Inc; DES Architects+Engineers; ElCentro de Libertad; Al Graf Bail Bonds; Pacific Stereo; Lourdes Carini at American Capital Financial; Maureen Fish, EA; PME Electrical, Bob Anderson Motorsport; Performance Fabrication; Glenn Lew, DDS; Attachments, International, Allen Equipment, Bulter Construction, NorCal Waste, Lynne Mercer and Coldwell Banker,.George Borg, Donna Vaillancourt, Andrew Newman and Newman Associates, Larry Graves and Professional Eviction Services, Service League of San Mateo County, Kraegen, Pep Boys, Apple Health, Diecast Collectibles, Grocery Outlet, Let's Talk Events, White Brothers Lock and Key, Deluxe Transmissions, and David Amann and Edward Jones Investments.

A big huge thanks to Larry and Loretta from “Let’s Talk Events” and the car show committee:  George and Jan Borg, Donna Vaillancourt, Melanie and Roy Souffrant, Mike Akana, Bill Lowell, Carol Stewart, Larry Graves, Maureen Fish, and all of the WTAMK members and Key Clubbers, and to all of the members who worked so hard and showed up to help and support (Lourdes, Lynne, George K., Elizabeth, Gerri, Girdie, Patti, Wilma, Harry, Paul, Glenda and friends and family members) it was another fun-filled and successful event.

Some people dream about living, and some people live the life of their dreams.  A year ago, Past President, George Borg had a vision about bringing in a new event to raise money for our community, and to join together for fellowship and enjoyment. Here we are living the dream, and having the time of our lives.
