Holiday cookie wrap was a success! - 12/21/2015

This is one of my favorite holiday projects, the Cookie Wrap!! These bags are lovingly decorated by children and Hope House ladies, then filled with hand baked cookies, apples, candies, and a scripture message, sealed, and delivered to jail inmates on Christmas Day. This is the ONLY present they are allowed at Christmas, and they do look forward to this. It is a great inter-service project that includes Service League, Woodside United Methodist Church, Woodside Terrace Kiwanis, and other community volunteers. Usually up to 1500 bags are packaged and delivered each year. Don't you just love those bags!

Our Key Clubbers also helped with the Service League Toy Wrap. In this event, volunteers pick out presents for children with parents in jail. The parents provide name, age, sex and a tag... "To Johnny from Daddy," or whatever. So these children each get a present from that parent, and they know they are loved and not forgotten!
